FRISCO- Despite not having all their weapons available, the Lewisville Hebron Hawks rolled to a 5-0 mark on Saturday to win the inaugural Frisco Liberty SQT on Saturday afternoon. Hebron knocked off Coppell in the championship game 41-34, however both teams clinched the big prize qualifying for the 7 on 7 State Tournament July 11-12 at Texas A&M University. Hebron QB Justin Iwuhi was able to get the ball to all of his weapons on a consistent basis all day without too many mistakes. Among the standouts for the Hawks were RB Darius Staten who had the catch of the day as he snagged a one handed touchdown in the Hawks semi-final win over Wylie.
POOL A
In a very balanced pool Richardson Lake Highlands advanced with a 3-0 record scoring a last minute touchdown in their final game to defeat upstart Frisco Liberty 44-39. In their first game LHHS blew open a 13-13 game against Lake Dallas to win 34-19. The Wildcats in their middle game rolled past the other new school in the SQT Dallas Conrad 51-13. Frisco Liberty before the tough loss to Lake Highlands looked solid beating Dallas Conrad 32-12 and Lake Dallas 40-38. Lake Dallas got their only win of the SQT beating Conrad 47-31, but QB James Franklin did have an impressive showing for the Falcons.

POOL B
Pool B had the SQT’s one qualifier and Denton Guyer did not disappoint posting a 3-0 mark. The Wildcats dispatched Richland 33-12 and then knocked off eventual qualifier Coppell 33-31 in a hard fought game. Guyer then had little trouble with Dallas Pinkston beating the Vikings 39-6. The pool basically came down to the third game matchup between Richland and Coppell, which Coppell won 40-35. Coppell opened the day up shutting Pinkston out 43-0. Richland got their only win of the day over Dallas Pinkston beating PHS 45-22.

POOL C
Pool C was easily the most competitive pool of the day as things came down to total points on a three way tie between Boswell, Wylie and Keller Central. Wylie came out sluggish after having their spring game the night before and Boswell jumped all over the Pirates taking a 26-7 lead. Wylie made a valiant comeback but Boswell held on for a 34-28 win. Keller Central opened the day up with a 31-20 win over The Colony. Wylie got back on track with a blowout win over The Colony 43-7, while Keller Central beat Boswell 39-33 in double overtime. Wylie took care of business in their final game with a 48-28 win over Keller Central, while Boswell beat The Colony 48-25. Wylie advanced due to a total point score of 119, while Boswell finished with 115 and Keller Central scored 98.

Pool D was all Lewisville Hebron as the Hawks finished 3-0, however HHS started out a little sluggish beating Richardson Pearce 26-25. Frisco Wakeland beat Weatherford 27-20 to start the day off. Richardson Pearce rebounded with a 47-20 win over Weatherford, while Hebron knocked off Frisco Wakeland 44-18 despite only leading 6-0 at halftime. Hebron continued the offensive dominance in their final game beating Weatherford 49-26 while Frisco Wakeland beat Richardson Pearce 49-38.
