CY FALLS SQT
POOL A- CY FALLS, TOMBALL, STRATFORD, KLEIN COLLINS
Cy Falls definitely gets an edge as it is their own SQT plus they have a great
returner in SR QB Kolby Gray. Tomball has the big name in JR WR Jordan Leslie
along with SR QB Chad Tarhini. Stratford made it to the state championship game
last season but loses all-world QB Andrew Luck but does still have one of his
targets in SR RB Rodney Anderson. Klein Collins is at a big disadvantage as they
just got a new coach and are learning a brand new system.
Jay’s Pool A Winner: Cy Falls
POOL B- CY CREEK, ALIEF TAYLOR, JERSEY VILLAGE, STRAKE JESUIT
Cy Creek always has a respectable 7on7 game because their base offense spreads
it out and throws the ball around, this season will be no different. Jersey
Village will be strong defensively with SR LB Trey Briggs and SR DB Steven Campbell. Strake Jesuit is coming off a good season but loses their QB of last
year. Alief Taylor will be able to move the ball with SR QB/ATH Rodney Owens and
SR RB Demarcus Dennis.
Jay’s Pool B Winner: Cy Creek
POOL C- LANGHAM CREEK, WOODLANDS, KLEIN OAK, CY FAIR
All four teams in this pool are losing their starting quarterbacks from last
season. Langham will miss QB Max Jenkins but do have JR LB Efrem Oliphant and SR
QB/WR Evan Martin-McKamie. The Woodlands has some players that shined last
season as well such as SR WR Alex Tweedy, SR WR/QB Ryan Eastman, and SR CB Logan Rowe. Klein Oak has the most talent coming back like JR S Luke Muncie, SR CB
Jeremy Mayweather, and SR TE/WR Jordan Najvar. Cy Fair loses the man everybody
was chasing last year in RB Sam McGuffie but does still return SR TE Colby Goodwin and JR QB/RB Tevin Champagne.
Jay’s Pool C Winner: The Woodlands
POOL D- CY WOODS, WALLER, SPRING, KLEIN FOREST
Cy Woods has the potential to be a threat but the players have no varsity
experience. Waller is coming off a good year but are not usually known for their
aerial attack. Spring has the type of offense that works well with 7on7 plus
they have returning players like SR QB Kenric McNeal, SR WR Dakota Dill, and SR
DB Josh Rowe. Klein Forest won this tournament last season but also lost a lot
of starters from that team, however athletes like SR WR/CB Vernon Rogers, SR RB
Dominic Wilkins, SR QB Vernell Caldwell, SR WR/S Damian Payne and JR LB Cameron Nwosu should be enough to get it done again.
Jay’s Pool D Winner: Klein Forest
Semi-Finals Pool A vs Pool B: Cy Falls over Cy Creek
Semi-Finals Pool C vs Pool D: Klein Forest over The Woodlands
Third Place Game: The Woodlands over Cy Creek
Championship Game: Klein Forest over Cy Falls
