TPI rankings 4A and small school teams as upsets plague the area. Angleton maintains its stranglehold on Houston 4A rankings while 3A Sealy climbs to No. 1 as the three top-ranked teams tumble in small school ranks. Comments are welcome in the TPI Forum.

4A Greater Houston Rankings for Oct. 12, 2009:

1. Angleton (6-0) beat No. 7 Dawson 49-28
2. Port Neches-Grove (6-0) beat Livingston 30-7
3. Brenham (5-1) beat Magnolia West 28-7
4. Santa Fe (6-0) beat No. 10 Friendswood 29-28
5. Yates (6-1) beat Houston Austin 56-0
6. Beaumont Central (5-1) beat Lumberton 14-7
7. Dawson (5-1) lost to No. 1 Angleton 28-49
8. Montgomery (5-1) beat Magnolia 35-13
9. El Campo (5-1) beat Richmond Foster 42-9
10. Friendswood (3-3) lost to No. 4 Santa Fe 28-29

On the verge: Crosby (4-2), La Marque (3-3), Lamar Consolidated (3-3), Cleveland (5-1)


Small School Greater Houston Rankings for Oct. 12, 2009:

1. Sealy (6-0) beat No. 3 Giddings 30-18
2. Newton (6-0) beat Woodville 34-13
3. Giddings (5-1) lost to No. 1 Sealy 18-30
4. La Grange (6-0) beat Bellville 10-7
5. Navasota (5-1) lost to Caldwell 0-14
6. West Orange-Stark (4-2) lost to Silsbee 7-13
7. Bellville (4-2) lost to No. 4 La Grange 7-10
8. Rice Consolidated (5-1) bye
