As many you know, the initial team that started here with Texas Prep Insider has changed over the last couple of month. But our goal here at TPI is to provide our fans with the best high school and recruiting news. With that said, we have hired a few new staff to join our street team.

Terry Carter, TPI-Houston
Carter has proven to be a dedicated sports journalist in his career. His background includes four stints as sports editor, two as photo editor and one as managing editor in his 16 years of experience. A journalism graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University in 1987, Carter began his career in Houston before covering sports across Texas.

He became a photo editor, then sports editor with H.B.C. Publications in Henderson, Nevada, where he played an integral role in bringing the first statewide preseason prep magazine to Nevada. He also wrote and managed VarsityOnline.com and spent seven years at the Houston Chronicle.

As a member of the TPI team, Carter will help with rankings, team previews and predictions, player’s features and photo galleries as well as commentaries/blogs. His work can be viewed in the Katy News, InsideTexasWrestling.com, and he manages Untouchable Designs Photography in West Houston.

Adam Sweeny, TPI-San Antonio
After spending four years as an opinions and arts & entertainment columnist with the Lone Star Lutheran, Sweeny answered the call as a sports writer and had features published in Sports Illustrated.com and the New Braunfels Herald-Zeitung, where he covered high school athletics.

For Texas Prep Insider, Sweeny will handle the coverage area of San Antonio/New Braunfels. High School game coverage and in-players reviews and features are some of the duties he will have. While working with the TPI crew, he will also contribute work to SLAM Magazine, Realfootball365, Talkhoops.net, Fandomania, C-Heads Magazine and other online media outlets.

Coretta Warner-Marketing
Warner is a Stephen F. Austin graduate who has made it her life’s work to help small businesses in need of marketing services. Since making the move to Houston, she has performed various duties for media marketing firms and sectors of the financial industry. In addition to work in the professional realm, she also helped establish and sits on the board of a non-profit organization that helps educate and create awareness for her family’s eastern Caribbean country.

As a new member of the TPI team, Warner will implement a plan to marketing the site to coaches, parents, fans, and athletes. New progressive ideas in the realm of social media are in the works. She will also write internal copy and create some graphic work for the site.
