Thursday's Game

South Houston vs Pasadena

The South Houston Trojans are coming off an impressive upset win over Dobie 20-7 (also see "SoHo Shocker"). The defense was stellar in the win over Dobie with LB Joshua Batiste leading the charge. If the offense can come along some more and put some points up, this team will get a few more wins under their belt.
The Pasadena Eagles look to rebound after a 49-17 loss to Pasadena Memorial last week. The Eagles were able to move the ball somewhat effectively, but were just not able to capitalize when given the scoring opportunities.

Prediction : Trojans by 3

Friday's Games

Deer Park vs Dobie

The Deer Park Deer are coming off an impressive 31-21 win over rival La Porte last week. (also see "Deer Park Outguns La Porte"). The Deer were without running back Travis Carter last wee as he was out with an ankle injury, but Jarrod Blocker stepped in and had 100 yards rushing and 2 TD's. QB Hans Cook continued his steady play with 151 yards passing and 2 TD's.
The Dobie Longhorns are coming off a tough loss to South Houston last week that saw them out gain the Trojans on total offense, yet were outscored 20-7. The Longhorns will be looking to minimize the turnovers this week after having 3 costly ones last week.

Prediction : Deer by 17

Pasadena Memorial vs Rayburn

The Pasadena Memorial Mavericks are coming off a 49-17 win over Pasadena last week.(also see "Mavericks handle Eagles with ease."). The Maverics hope to get quarterback Tate Gresham back from injury this week. If they do not running back Bo Snelson will step back into the role again.
The Sam Rayburn Texans are coming off a staggering 59-0 defeat at the hands of Pearland. The Texans have nowhere to go but up after last weeks performance. Quarteback Ed Bell had little time to direct the offense and looks to rebound from last weeks showing.

Prediction : Mavericks by 17

Pearland vs La Porte

The Pearland Oilers are coming off back to back impressive 59-0 shutouts of Pasadena and Rayburn respectively. The Oilers are averaging an astonishing 48.5 points a game thus far and only giving up an average of 8.5 points a game. The Oiler offense is definitely rolling now averaging 447 yards of total offense this year.

Prediction : Oilers by 35
