14-5A DISTRICT INSIDER |
|
This district is wide open after Lufkin as usual and there should be 4
teams battling it out for the final 3 spots. The Woodlands went 3-8 last
season and started off with a bang in a 42-0 win over Cy Fair. Lufkin is
back to their old tricks against their old familiar foes! |

|
Lufkin vs Tyler John Tyler- Everybody can enjoy a good old fashioned
battle like this one! Although it is not a district game this time
around Lufkin loves to play their East Texas friends and is already 1-0
after beating Tyler Lee. This game should have the same outcome except
an easier win for Lufkin here. |
|
The Woodlands vs Katy- Yes Woodlands won 42-0 and Katy is 0-1. But not
so fast my friend!! Katy had an opportunity to win their game against a
very highly ranked North Shore team and Woodlands was only up +-0 at the
half in their win over Cy Fair. Woodlands will be pumped up and ready
for this one but Katy should just be too much to handle. |
|
College Park vs Huntsville (4A)- The Cavaliers had to have a comeback to
start their season 1-0 and now will face a solid 4A team in Huntsville.
College Park should have enough fire power to take this one but the
Hornets are a pesky bunch that plays very well. |
|
Conroe @ MacArthur- Conroe got upset in Zero Week 21-7 against Klein
Collins and will come out with a vengence and should take care of
MacArthur as they have the past few seasons as well. If not this could
be bad news for Coach Roger Holtkamp and the Tigers. |
|
Oak Ridge @ Tomball- If you like it when a tremendous passing team plays
a stellar rushing team then this is your dream match-up! Tomball throws
the ball all over the field and why not when you have SR QB Chad Tarhini
and JR WR Jordan Leslie! Oak Ridge runs the ball basically every play
and look out for FR RB Michael Handy. |
|
New Caney vs Magnolia (4A)- New Caney needs to get as many wins as they
possibly can because once they get into district play the undermaned New
Caney team could be in some big time trouble. Magnolia lost last week at
home vs Galena Park and is a very lackluster team on the offensive side
of the ball right now. |

Last Week in Review: The two main games that people probably noticed
were the Lufkin vs Tyler Lee match up along with the Woodlands big win
vs Cy Fair. However, Oak Ridge played a great game vs Caney Creek in the
first ever regular season game at Woodforest Stadium. |
