Keeping the Streak Alive: Arlington Lamar qualified for their 11th straight State Tournament on May 24 by winning the Colleyville Heritage SQT, while Colleyville Heritage on the other had went until the last week of SQT play by winning the Arlington Bowie SQT on June 28.
Long Distance Team: El Paso Montwood will be this year's road warriors with a 671 mile road trip to College Station. El Paso Del Valle is second in distance with a 668 mile jaunt. On the other end of the spectrum College Station A&M Consolidated won't be traveling at all as the State Tournament will be in College Station.
District 13-5A Dominates: 13-5A has a record five teams who have qualified for the State Tournament. Klein, Klein Oak, Klein Forest, Spring and Tomball.
Arlington ISD: There is little question the best 7 on 7 football in the state is played in Arlington ISD. Last year AISD had two teams advance to the semi-finals and this year they have four teams who have qualified. (Arlington Lamar, Arlington Bowie, Arlington and Arlington Martin).
First Timers: There are several first time entries to the State Tournament this year as 7 on 7 continues to grow. Here is this year's list: Aleif Hastings, Arlington, Beeville Jones, Denton Guyer, Duncanville, Fort Bend Elkins, Garland, Gregory-Portland, Houston Chavez, Houston Memorial, Laredo Alexander, Plano West, Rockwall-Heath, Schertz-Clemens, Tomball and Wichita Falls.
Home Field Advantage: As is normally the case several teams qualified for the State Tournament at their own SQTs. Check out the list: Wylie, Abilene, Mesquite, Cy Falls, Katy Cinco Ranch and Lufkin.
David vs. Goliath? Plano Senior High is the largest school in the State Tournament with an enrollment of 5215, while at the other end of the spectrum is Class 2A Brady who qualified with an enrollment of 391.
Regional Breakdown: DFW and Greater Houston lead the breakdown of teams.

Greater Houston: 18 teams
Central Texas: 8 teams
Coastal Bend/South Texas: 6 teams
East Texas: 4 teams
West Texas: 3 teams
Greater El Paso: 2 teams
Greater San Antonio: 2 teams
Wichita Falls Area: 1 team
Golden Triangle: 1 team
