Division 1 State Tournament Field Up to 36

Week Four of SQT play has ended and the Divsion 1 Field is up to 36 teams and included in that list of 36 are a couple of surprise guests. Check out the list posted here FIRST on TPI!

Highlighting the new entries to the field this week are Brownwood and Brady both of whom qualified in Lake Travis. Brownwood is a Class 3A school and Brady is a 2A school but both teams are allowed to play in the Division 1 State Tournament. Class 3A Carthage played in the Division 1 State Tournament last year.

Next week will be the busiest weekend in SQT history as a total of 11 SQTs will take place in both Divisions. In West Texas, Abilene will host a Division 1 SQT. In Central Texas, Temple will host a Division 1 SQT along with College Station A&M Consolidated. The San Antonio area hosts a Division 1 and 2 SQT as Alamo Heights and Bandera host respectively. In Greater Houston, Fort Bend Dulles will host. South Texas hosts Division 1 and 2 SQTs at Mission and Cuero. Diboll gets the first East Texas SQT as they host a Division 2 SQT, while DFW has SQTs at Coppell for Division 1 and Arlington Bowie for Division 2.
