"Yes Sir I committed already to Utah."
When asked to elaborate more on what led him to choose the Utes, Stewart had this to say:
"It just came down to their tradition for having good safeties, and good coaching there. Their safeties have led their team in tackles the last few years"
"They came down and offered me two weeks ago, about two weeks before the end of Spring ball, and I committed to them a week later during the last week of practice"
Utah was Stewart's only written offer at the time, but he says several other teams were getting close.
"My coach told me Kentucky was really interested and close to offering. Also Houston, Rice, and UCLA"
Stewart is planning his first trip to Utah soon to check out the campus he will be calling home for the next 4 years.
"I will be going up to the Utah campus for the first time in a few weeks"
Stewart who stands 5'9 and weighs 180 lbs., is coming off an impressive year in which he amassed more than 80 tackles, had three interceptions, five pass break-ups, and forced 11 fumbles.
