Tomball Stamps Their Ticket

16 teams were on hand Sunday at the Houston Texans practice facility looking to earn a berth to the State 7 on 7 tournament played in July in College Station. Tomball and Langham Creek were the last 2 standing at the end of it.

Day 2 of the annual Houston Texans 7 on 7 tournament got off to a bit of a rainy start Sunday morning, but by the end of the 1st round of games the rain had lifted, and there was a host of talented teams vying for the tournament's 2 qualifying berths to the State Tournament. By the end of the tournament the spirits of Tomball, and Langham Creek were lifted as well.

Tomball, and Langham Creek both stamped their ticket to College Station Sunday afternoon bringing the total number of qualified teams thus far to 12.

Langham Creek defeated Pasadena Memorial, and Tomball defeated Katy Seven Lakes in the semi-final round of action Sunday in order to secure their qualifications to the State Tournament, but left one last piece of info. to be decided. Who would be crowned as the Texans Tournament Champion.

The Title Game stayed close the whole way with Tomball coming up with a tough defensive stand late to secure the tournament championship 49-47.

2010 WR Jordan Leslie stood out for Tomball all day long, and drew a lot of attention from opposing defenses. The tighter coverage didn't sem to affect him however, as he and QB Chad Tarhini imposed their will on the opposing defenses all day.
