Conventional wisdom had that Daryl Jackson was a lock to follow his former head coach, Clarence McKinney, to the University of Houston. After all they had offered him first and Jackson likes his former coach. However, conventional wisdom can often times be changed with a single conversation from another school. In this case the University of Arizona talked with Daryl and now he is very interested in the school. "I like schools with lots of tradtion, you can catch me like that." That is exactly how Arizona got into the battle for Jackson and they had more than just tradition to offer him. "I am looking for a college with a coaching staff I like, how they play and what style I am wanting." Right now Arizona and Houston are at the top of his list with Houston being his only offer. However, Arizona might be close to offering the defensive tackle prospect. "They said that they are graduating a lot of defensive tackles and I would get early playing time." Jackson plans on visiting Arizona in the coming weeks and check them out at a junior day. If they were to offer Jackson, at least at this point, is a possibility to commit. However no doubt that UH will put up a strong fight for the talented defensive lineman. |
