Many of the talented athletes of the Class of 2009 are dual-sport athletes. And that is also the case with Silsbee (TX) defensive end Josh Skinner. While he is currently in baseball season, he is juggling football recruiting along with his obligations to his second sport.
But that hasn’t slowed down his recruitment by any means.
“I was going to go to LSU’s junior day, but I had a baseball game,” Skinner said. “Right now I don’t have any offers, but I am hearing from Kansas, Oklahoma State, Houston, Oklahoma, and Missouri. I don’t have a favorite because I like them all.”
The 6-foot-5, 225-pound Skinner said that LSU, Kansas, and Arizona are showing him the strongest interest at the moment. He corresponds with Kansas quite frequently by email.
He talked briefly about what they (he and Kansas) discuss in the emails.
“They mainly tell about the school and how they are interested in me,” Skinner said. “I like them a lot and like their style of play.”
From the interest they are showing him, he feels like Kansas may be close to extending an offer.
Last season, Skinner averaged about seven tackles a game and had five sacks.
