Check out Stepping Stones!! TexasPrepInsider goes in depth with some of the top Class of 2009 recruits as you get an early introduction to the big names for next season! Today we talk with Brownwood QB Casey Pachall. If you don't have a premium membership to TexasPrepInsider, you are missing out!!!

One of the more underrated signal callers in the Class of 2009 has to be Casey Pachall (Pronounced “Pa-Hall”) from Brownwood. The 6’5 194 pound QB with 4.65 speed in the forty could turn out to be the best college QB out of a very talented 2009 class.

A three year starter for Brownwood Pachall as a sophomore was sensational in 2006 throwing for 2073 yards and 11 touchdowns while chipping in nearly 600 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns while leading Brownwood to the Class 4A State Quarter-Finals and earning 16-4A Newcomer of the Year honors. In 2007 Casey’s numbers fell off a bit throwing for 1339 yards and 9 touchdowns while adding nearly 400 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns earning 2nd team all 16-4A honors.

Casey who also runs track and plays baseball for BHS describes himself as a play maker and very accurate pocket passer, “I’m really going to work on my footwork this off-season and being more efficient,” said Pachall when asked what he’ll look to improve on this off-season.

Pachall who has Oklahoma, TCU, Louisville, Iowa and Texas A&M in his top five currently holds offers from TCU, Arizona, Baylor, Houston and Nebraska. This summer look for Casey to attend two or possibly three camps along with attending TCU’s junior day this weekend. Also look for the Brownwood QB during this summer’s seven on seven season as he tries to lead the Lions back to the State Tournament which will be held in July at Texas A&M.

Look for Casey to make his decision on his future before the season starts, “I really want to focus on helping us win a state title and making an early decision is going to allow me to focus on helping my team win games,” said Pachall who plans on majoring in Business.

Besides leading Brownwood to their 8th state championship, Pachall lists throwing for 3000 yards and rushing for 1000 yards as his top personal goals in 2008 however that won’t be easy in a loaded new District 2-3A. “The new district is tough but it’ll be fun, there are lots of good teams in Class 3A and just because we are dropping down we know it won’t be easy and we’ll be working hard to improve.”
