Miller is a Hot Commodity Premium Story

With National Signning Day in the rearview mirror, the recruiting focus is now squarely pegged on the Class of 2009 and today we take a look at one of the top running backs in DFW in Naaman Forest RB Jonathon Miller.

The major reason why Garland Naaman Forest went from doormat to the penthouse and a 9-3 record and a trip to the Class 5A Area Playoffs in 2007 was the play of RB Jonathon Miller. Miller sliced and diced his way to 1984 yards and 25 touchdowns in 2007 as he earned first team all 10-5A honors along with first team all area honors as named by TexasPrepInsider.

Miller who stands in at 6’1 190 pounds with 4.5 speed is also a standout in track as he specializes in the 200, 4x100 relay and the 4x200 relay for the Rangers. Jonathon also spends plenty of time in the weight room as he boasts a bench press max of 275 pounds and a squat max of 425 pounds.

”I think my biggest strength is my vision, I see the hole and I hit the hole hard,” replied the Naaman Forest RB. Jonathon says this off-season he’s focusing on improving his speed and strength.

The list of schools in the Miller sweepstakes is long but it appears Jonathon has narrowed the list to seven as Arkansas, LSU, Missouri, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas and Texas A&M are on the list at this time. Jonathon says right now he doesn’t have a clear cut favorite.

Miller says location and a chance at early playing time will play key roles in deciding where he lands for his post high school days. This summer look for the Naaman Forest RB at a local 7 on 7 State Qualifying Tournament in DFW as he’ll be trying to lead the Rangers to the State Tournament, Jonathon says he’ll also attend three or four camps this summer as well.

”I would like to make my decision before the season starts,” said Miller who took his SAT test recently and he is hoping once the test results come in that the offers will soon follow. “This season upcoming season, my main goal is to help the team win a district championship and hopefully on a deep playoff run,” said Miller who mentioned the Rangers heartbreaking loss to Dallas Carter in the Area Playoffs last year as a motivating factor for he and his teammates. After a sensational junior season as a motivated Jonathon Miller could be on his way to some monster numbers.
