A big time Quarterback from the DFW area not many fans have heard a lot about is Midlothian's Bryce Petty. The 6'2 205 pound Class of 2009 Quarterback has put up some solid numbers his first two seasons guiding the Panthers offense as in 2007 Bryce threw for over 2100 yards and 16 touchdowns along with 6 rushing touchdowns earning first team all 15-4A honors. As a sophomore, Petty accounted for 6 total touchdowns and over 1000 yards of total offense as he earned 15-4A newcomer of the year honors. Petty who is also a member of the MHS powerlifting and track teams bench presses 265 pounds along with a squat max of 420 pounds.

"I think my number on strength is the fact I am a perfectionist and I want to get as close to perfect as possible when I play. I am very coachable and I never give up on a play," replied the Midlothian Quarterback who says this summer he's going to spend a lot of time watching film and working on his speed.

Topping Petty's list at this time is Oklahoma, but Bryce has lists Arkansas, LSU, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Texas and Baylor. Keep an eye on the Bears as the hiring of Art Briles has caught Petty's attention. Last summer Bryce attended camps at Texas, Texas A&M and LSU while also playing some 7 on 7 for the Panthers in the Metroplex Passing League. Petty says this simmer he is hoping the Panthers enter into some 7 on 7 State Qualifying Tournaments along with attending camps at Arkansas, Oklahoma and Baylor.

Bryce lists Academics and campus atmosphere are the top two factors in deciding where he lands for his college days. As for a decision date Petty isn't too sure, "I think I would like to make an early verbal commitment but I'll only commit if the right offer comes along."
