Katy 42, FB Clements 0

After a couple of games where Katy looked beatable they
noticed some people actually not believing in them against another undefeated
team in the form of the FB Clements Rangers. Needless to say that zero under the
L column for both teams really energized the Tigers and got one of their best
performances of the season out of them.
The first possession for the Tigers was a table setter as
they drove all the way down the field very convincingly and capped it off with a
5 yard TD run by SR RB Aundre Dean. A quick three and out and a great punt
return led to another quick strike when SR QB Bo Levi Mitchell rolled out to his
right and hit WR Brian Rowe in the corner of the endzone from 21 yards out to
make the score 14-0. To cap the first quarter off Aundre Dean scored for the
second time on the night, this time from 2 yards out and made it a quick 21-0
lead for the Katy Tigers.
The second quarter was the first time Clements was actually
moving the ball offensively until JR QB Derek Carr was sitting back in the
pocket and SR DB Cameren Strickler blitzed off the edge and hammered Carr
forcing a fumble and a Katy recovery. As the Tigers continued to make the
Rangers pay for their mistakes Dean drove his team down the field but SR DB/RB
Trent Hunter was substituted in and danced his way to a 17 yard TD run. Next
Katy possession Bo Levi Mitchell decided to take the scoring into his own hands
as he sprinted out right and everybody dropped into coverage leaving enough room
for him to score a 6 yard TD run to make the halftime score 35-0. Midway through
the third Aundre Dean found his was to paydirt from 16 yards out as that was the
lone score in the second half for a final score of 42-0 in favor of the Katy
Tigers.
Although SR QB Bo Levi Mitchell was not perfect stat wise
(4-10 passing, 74 yards), he had a huge touchdown on a 3rd and long
play. SR RB Aundre Dean finished the night with 24 attempts for 186 yards and 3
TD. The Katy defense held Clements to only 169 total yards on the night and 7
first downs.
