Leander (5-2, 3-1) at Georgetown (4-3, 2-2) - The Eagles mustered just six points in a loss to Round Rock last week while Leander dropped a touchdown decision on Homecoming to Stony Point. A loss will all but knock Georgetown out of the playoff race, so look for this one to be a real donnybrook, but Leander's running game makes the difference. JEFF'S PICK: Leander 14, Georgetown, 13
Westwood (2-5, 0-4) at Cedar Park (5-2, 2-2) - The Timberwolves lost a physical battle with Pflugerville last week, but look for them to get back on track this week. RB's Hunter Dixon and Dedrick McKnight have combined for over 1,200 yards and 15 touchdowns and this week they face a Warrior defense that yields 191 yards rushing per game. JEFF'S PICK: Cedar Park 35, McNeil 21
Round Rock (4-3, 2-2) at McNeil (4-3, 1-3) - The Mavericks had a nice outing last week against Westwood, especially on defense by coming away with four interceptions. But do not look for Round Rock to go to the air that often. RB Marcus Jackson leads the district with 992 yards and the Mavs are last in 14-5A when it comes to stopping the run. JEFF'S PICK: Round Rock 27, McNeil 17
Pflugerville (6-1, 3-1) at Stony Point (5-2, 3-1) - The Tigers, who have never made the playoffs, can take sole possession of first place in the league with a win. These two teams have very similar numbers and have both played in big games this season. The Panthers have been rolling since their loss to Leander and they will nab a close win. JEFF'S PICK: Pflugerville 23, Stony Point 20
Austin High (5-2, 3-1) at Akins (1-6, 0-4) - This should not be much of contest as Akins continues to struggle while the Maroons continue to push toward the postseason. Austin High bounced back nicely from an overtime loss to Bowie two weeks ago by going on the road and thumping Seguin. Look for the Maroons to win big in this one. JEFF'S PICK: Austin High 38, Akins 7
Anderson (4-3, 1-3) at Bowie (5-2, 4-0) - The Bulldogs are inching closer to a district championship and are playing some of the best football in the area. This one is intriguing because Anderson does have a dynamic offense, led by QB Duncan McGee. Bowie's defense held Westlake to 14 points last week, and their offense should have a nice week. JEFF'S PICK: Bowie 31, Anderson 21
Seguin (2-5, 2-2) at Westlake (4-3, 2-2) - The loser of this contest is virtually out of the playoff race. Bowie's running game is coming along nicely as they rushed for 217 yards last week against Westlake. Seguin's offense, led by QB Kevin Smith, can score in bunches, but Westlake rarely loses two in a row, especially in their own house. JEFF'S PICK: Westlake 34, Seguin 21
San Marcos (4-3, 3-1) at Bastrop (1-6, 1-3) - The Bears nearly got their second district win last week but they were outlasted by Anderson. This week they could be in trouble as San Marcos enters the game with the district's top rushing attack with the Rattlers averaging over 330 yards per outing. Look for the Rattlers to win and get ready for Austin High. JEFF'S PICK: San Marcos 42, Bastrop 28
Reagan (1-6, 1-4) at Travis (6-1, 4-1) - The Rebels have assured themselves of their second straight winning season while the Raiders are falling fast having lost five straight games by an average score of 59-8. The Rebels should have a big night on offense and use this game to get ready for games against McCallum and LBJ down the stretch. JEFF'S PICK: Travis 48, Reagan 12
McCallum (3-4, 3-2) at Elgin (5-2, 4-1) - The loser of this game is out of playoff contention making this an obviously huge game. Elgin's ground attack, led by Derrick Faulke, will battle McCallum's passing game led by Kevin Lusson. Elgin has the home field advantage which should help them win a close one and end the Knights' reign atop the league. JEFF'S PICK: Elgin 21, McCallum 17
LBJ (6-1, 5-0) at Manor (7-1, 6-0) - Mustang Stadium will be rocking with the District 17-4A title looming ahead for the winner. Both offenses are explosive but the edge in this one goes to LBJ, who looks to have the better defense of the two teams. LBJ has also had two weeks to prepare for this one, which is plenty of time for Claude Mathis to game plan. JEFF'S PICK: LBJ 23, Manor 20
Connally (5-2, 4-0) at Lake Travis (6-1, 4-0) - This game will decide the 25-4A title for the second straight season. Lake Travis won last season's game at Connally and they have the home field advantage. This should be a low scoring game, and that being said, Lake Travis gets the edge because their offense can score at the drop of a hat. JEFF'S PICK: Lake Travis 21, Connally 20
Vista Ridge (1-6, 1-3) at Burnet (3-4, 2-2) - The Bulldogs have faced a tough schedule this season and nevertheless very much in the playoff hunt after having faced a lot of adversity in the offseason. This week they should go to .500 against a talented Vista Ridge team, but the Bulldogs have been getting big games from RB Darius Nesby lately. JEFF'S PICK; Burnet 27, VR 17
Hendrickson (2-5, 2-2) at Lampasas (0-7, 0-4) - The Hawks are still alive for a playoff berth with a 2-2 district record. They do however face Connally and Lake Travis down the stretch, so they cannot afford to slip up against the struggling Badgers. Look for Spencer Otto to have a big night throwing to Michael Reese and Chris Roddy. JEFF'S PICK: Hendrickson 35, Lampasas 14
Dripping Springs (2-5, 0-4) at Marble Falls (5-2, 3-1) - A season with so much promise turned sour in a hurry for the Tigers and it does not look to get any better this week. The Mustangs can lock up their first winning season under Coach Cord Woerner with a win this week, which should happen as they get ready for a big tilt with Burnet next week. JEFF'S PICK: Marble Falls 30, Dripping Springs 21
Canyon (3-4, 2-2) at Del Valle (4-3, 2-2) - The loser of this game will be eliminated from playoff contention with just two weeks left in the season. The matchup of running backs is a good one with Travis Collins-Johnson facing Robert Clay, but Del Valle's defense has been stingy for the most part this season and that will win them this must win game. JEFF'S PICK: Del Valle 24, Canyon 16
Lockhart (0-6, 0-4) at Lehman (1-6, 0-4) - Both of these teams would really like a win to give them something to look forward to going into the offseason. The Lions have played well in recent weeks but have been outlasted by the heavyweights in the district. Their time will come this week against a Lehman team that has been shutout four time in 2007. JEFF'S PICK: Lockhart 31, Lehman 17
Steele (7-0, 4-0) at New Braunfels (7-0, 4-0) - The Knights have been getting the job done with defense as they have allowed 53 points all season and recorded shutouts in their last three games. They have not seen an offense however like they will see this week and Ryan Perez is one of the area's best QB's, and he will lift the Unicorns to the win. JEFF'S PICK: NB 26, Steele 17
Hays (5-2, 3-1) at Clemens (4-3, 1-3) - After a 4-0 start, the Buffaloes have lost three of their last four games. Hays meanwhile got a huge win over Del Valle and is sitting comfortably in third place. Their defense makes timely stops, which seems like all they need with Clayton Rogers finding ways to score and win, which should happen this week. JEFF'S PICK: Hays 24, Clemens 20
