TPI District 17-5A: Week Six Preview (FREE)

It’s Week 6 and district play is heating up all across the city. Strake Jesuit plays Langham Creek, Cy Ridge will take on Cy Falls, Cy Fair will battle Jersey Village, and Cy Springs will play Cy Creek. TPI will break down each of these match ups.

Cy Ridge vs. Cy Springs: Cy Ridge’s high-powered offense has proven that it can score anytime and almost against any team. Led by QB Russell Shepard and RB Hasan Lipscomb, the Rams should have no problem against Cy Springs. Cy Ridge by 24.

Cy Fair vs. Langham Creek: With Wesley Cobb and Sam McGuffie in the backfield, the Lobo defense will have its hands full. Langham Creek, led by QB Max Jenkins will look to come out and make a statement and pick up a first district win. I see this game being close throughout, but Cy Fair will pull it out in the end. Cy Fair by 7.

Strake Jesuit vs. Cy Falls: Strong defense meets high-scoring offense. This one will be good. Cy Falls QB Kolby Gray will face a good defensive squad that causes plenty of turnovers. But the Golden Eagles have much more team speed that Starke Jesuit. It’s a tough call but I think the Crusaders’ win streak ends on Friday. Cy Falls by 10.

Cy Creek vs. Jersey Village: Cy Creek has plenty of offensive weapons and is a clear favorite in this one. Jersey Village has struggled for most of the year and has not had much success. Cy Creek has a little too much firepower and should score plenty of points. Cy Creek by 21.
