Brownwood's Casey Pachall is the 16-4A P.O.W.

Jeff Howe picks the top performers from all around Central Texas in Week 1 with players of the week from each of the Class 5A and 4A districts and from Class 3A and Class 2A.

CLASS 3A: Garrett Carey, QB, Hutto
The Hippos signal caller had a big night in the Hippos 23-12 win over Class 4A Elgin last week with 204 yards rushing on 17 carries and two touchdowns while going 7-for-13 passing for 83 more yards.

CLASS 2A: Lee McClendon, QB, Mart
On the road against Lexington, McClendon was money for the defending state champions throwing for 171 yards, rushing for 109, accounting for three touchdowns and intercepting two passes on defense.
