RB Shane Turner, Cy Falls
Turner's stock rose quite a few points after his performance against Spring Westfield. He had 179 yards on the ground with two touchdowns. As a receiver, Turner caught four passes for 67 yards and a touchdown. Keep an eye on Turner all season because he is poised for more performances like this one.
QB Jeff McVaney, Strake Jesuit
McVaney has proven that he is the leader of the Crusader team. Making this list again, McVaney was 11-of-16 for 161 yards and two touchdown passes. On the ground he picked up another 48 yards in a 24-10 victory over Baytown Lee.
ATH Cortez Paige, Langham Creek
Paige was a serious playmaker in the Lobos 44-20 win over Mayde Creek. He two catches for 90 yards and a touchdown. Defensively, he had an interception and on special team he returned the opening kickoff 88 yards for a touchdown. Langham Creek is on a roll with a 2-0 record right now.
QB Kolby Gray, Cy Falls
Though he played only two quarters, Gray showed his leadership in Cy Falls' 47-45 victory over state ranked Westfield. Gray was 9-of-16 for 107 yards and two passing touchdowns. He added another score on a 1-yard run. These statistics may not be eye-popping, but his presence appeared to be felt by his teammates.
DE David King, Strake Jesuit
King, an Oklahoma commit, is the Crusader's defensive leader and he showed exactly that in a 24-10 win over Baytown Lee. He recorded seven tackles, a forced fumble, and a pass deflection that led to a Strake Jesuit touchdown. King also intercepted a pass to seal the victory for his team.
RB Wesley Cobb, Cy Fair
For the second week in a row, Cobb was the Bobcats workhorse. He gained 196 yards on 37 carries and a score in 17-6 win over Klein Collins. Cobb still proves that he can hold down the ground game in Sam McGuffie's absence.
RB Hasan Lipscomb, Cy Ridge
Lipscomb was the leader for the Rams team against Klein. He had 123 yards on 13 carries in a 10-7 loss. Lipscomb is a player to watch for from the Class of 2009.
