Katy Cinco Ranch vs. Strake Jesuit: Both the Crusaders and Cougars come off Week 1 wins. I like the quarterback match up in this game (Jeff McVaney, Strake Jesuit-Shane Ros, Cinco Ranch) and I think both will show up for the challenge. But this match will come down to defense and I’m going with the Cougars. Cinco Ranch by 7.
Alief Hastings vs. Angelton: Hastings fell to Fort Bend Marshall last week and now the face a tough 4A team in Angelton that is loaded with talent. The Wildcats will put up a fight, but Hastings should come out on top. Hastings by 14.
Alief Taylor vs. Cy Fair: Cy Fair is coming off a Week 1 win over Klein Collins and once again RB Wesley Cobb had a strong showing. On defense, the Bobcats have to face a solid athlete in Taylor’s Donte Elliott. I don’t see this being a high-scoring game, but I like the Bobcats in this one. Cy Fair by 14.
Katy Taylor vs. Cy Falls: The Cy Falls team has that never say die attitude and it showed during the Westfield game. With QB Kolby Gray back in the rotation along with RB Shane Turner, the Golden Eagles should easily soar to victory. Cy Falls by 21.
Katy Mayde Creek vs. Lamar Consolidated: This one will be a good one to watch, as Lamar Consolidated is a very good 4A team. In most cases I would be in favor of the 5A team, but I look for Mustang RB Jacquizz Rodgers to have a hugs game. Lamar Consolidate by 10.
Katy Morton Ranch vs. Langham Creek: The Lobos are hot right now scoring 30+plus points in two games. They are led by QB Max Jenkins who is effective by ground or air. Langham Creek has dominated opponents each week and this one will be no different. Langham Creek by 21.
