Strake Jesuit defensive end David King was a forced to be reckoned with against Baytown Lee in Week 1. King, an Oklahoma commit, was key in the Crusader’s 24-10 victory Friday night.
“I think I am a lot more focused this year,” King said. “We have a new defensive coordinator and he keeps our defense on track.”
King and Crusader defense took charge late in the game. He ended the game with about six tackles, a pass deflection that led to a touchdown, and a key interception to seal the win for Strake Jesuit.
The 6-4, 235-pound King has really taken he game play to another level this season. He is bigger, faster, and more disciplined on the pass rush. Look for King to continue to improve as the year the year goes on.
