Houston Stratford vs. Alief Elsik: Elsik gave up 41 points to Nimitz last week and this opponent will not be any easier. QB Andrew Luck leads Stratford and he will make plays week in and week out. I don’t see the Rams having an answer to the offensive attack they will see this weekend. Stratford by 14.
Aldine vs. Houston Lamar: This game features true skilled players facing off in battle. Aldine’s Darron Thomas and Lamar’s Kalvin Guyton will match speed for speed. It’s tough to decide on this one because games like this rarely let you down. I’m going with Aldine. Aldine by 10.
Aldine Nimitz vs. Clear Brook: For Nimitz, a strong ground game is led by Michael Thomas and Marion Grice and both proved to be lethal in last week’s game. Clear Brook did not bring much offensively or defensively against Westfield. And in the ground game, the Cougars could be just as dangerous. Nimitz by 21.
Aldine Eisenhower vs. North Shore: After letting one slip by them last week against Humble, the Eagles face a tough one in North Shore. There will be plenty of talent on the field Friday in Galena Park and I think this one may be closer than many think. But still, I’ll take the Mustangs. North Shore by 10.
Jersey Village vs. Houston Memorial: Jersey Village did not come out on the winning end of the Clear lake game last week. But this week the Falcons face a Memorial team that has very few returning starters. Memorial is always known for putting up a good fight, but I see the Falcons bringing home the ‘W.’ Jersey Village by 10.
Aldine Macarthur vs. Conroe: Conroe is coming off a Week 0 win while Macarthur fell to G. Ball by a close margin. Both teams match up fairly well, but in this case I’ll go with the momentum. Conroe by 7.
Cy Creek vs. Spring Woods: Cy Creek is looking for its first win and will likely get in Week 1. Look for QB Jacob Thompson to hook up with WR Hayden Krc several times and test the Tiger secondary frequently. Spring Woods will put some points on the board, but not enough. Cy Creek by 14.
Northbrook vs. Houston Austin: It’s homecoming for Northbrook, but here is a situation where we have low-ranked teams in both the 5A and 4A classifications. But when in doubt, go with the larger school. Northbrook by 14.
