Only two schools will play in Zero Week, and both Waltrip (vs. Sam Rayburn) and Yates (vs. El Campo) should be favored to win. The rest of the district will take the weekend off before starting play next weekend.

Sam Rayburn at Waltrip: Neither team will make a deep postseason run, so the winner of this one could wait a long time before the second comes around. The Rams are not as bad as they may appear; unfortunately, Rayburn is, so take the 4A team over the 5A school in this one.

El Campo at Yates: Two playoff teams from last season square off. The solid defense of Yates will be challenged by the Ricebird backfield of Landon Appling and Anthony Terrell, but the game will be decided by who can pass more effectively. The Lions almost had their season ruined by a loss at El Campo last year, so Yates will be more focused and pull away late.
