Aldine Nimitz junior-to-be QB Zeric Rollins
checks in at or about 6-foot-2, 175 pounds and reportedly clocks a 4.68 forty. Kid's got a strong arm and boasts above average accuracy, especially in the short and deep passing game. However, he acknowledged that he can improve in his intermediate range throws, something he said he's already working on this summer. Checking him out at the Oklahoma State
camp held in Houston at Delmar Stadium May 30, kid caught our attention as well as Oklahoma State offensive coodinator Larry Fedora
"I thought I did pretty good at the OSU camp," Rollins told Scout.com. "Coach Fedora commented several times about my throws, saying 'Good Ball,' and 'Good Throw'... All of my throws were good. They were accurate and it seemed like Coach Fedora liked what he saw from me."
After making an impression in the drills, kid did the same in the one-on-ones...
"Well, my wide receiver Kelvin Chatham would jump in every time it was my time to throw and so I think we kind of had an advantage, you know, our timing was on point. So, I did really good in the one-on-ones."
Sophomore Stat Package: "400 yards passing, 3 TDs, 300 yards rushing, 6 TDs."
Summer Camp Agenda: "Oklahoma State (May 30) and I'm going to attend some NFL camps as well. My father (Zeric Rollins) is the Seattle Seahawk linebacker coach. So, he's going to take me to some NFL camps."
Early Faves: "Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Texas, Texas Tech and Baylor."
Weight Room Numbers: "220 Bench, 325 Squat, 185 Power Clean."
Zeric Rollins is a prospect to keep an eye on for the 2007 season. Just a sophomore in 2006, kid garnered few snaps as a second-string quarterback. But this upcoming season he ascends to the throne of starting field general for Aldine Nimitz. Already on the Scout.com radar we caught up with the signal caller to talk recruiting and more.
