Standing 6'4.5" 240lbs, with 4.8 speed, Jordan Feuerbacher of Kingwood Park HS passes the eye test as a D1 recruit. It didn't take long for the UTSA coaches to agree. The staff let him know that he was a top priority as they extended an offer to him first thing as he arrived on campus before the junior day festivities started.
"It went real well. I enjoyed myself. It's a really nice campus, up to date and they're building a lot of stuff. I love their coaching staff, they're great. I got to talk to Coach Reeve a lot. He's one of my favorite recruiters. I got a really great first impression," said Feuerbacher.
UTSA's offer is his second. Texas State extended one about two weeks ago, and programs such as Mizzou, Baylor, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, Northwestern, Illinois and Arizona State have all made contact.
Jordan likes how the fledgling program is on the rise. He envisions the opportunity to come in, work hard and possibly get the chance to see the field early. It's something that has caught his attention, but it's not the only factor that will help form his decision.
"I'm really looking at taking football almost out of the picture. See how I'd like to go to school there if I weren't playing football. That and the academics. Proximity to home isn't that important, I just don't want to go way too far north. I'm just looking for the right fit with the combination of great academics," said Feuerbacher.
With some opportunities at hand already, Feuerbacher is aiming for a decision before the beginning of his senior year. He'd like to have it wrapped up in order to solely focus on his season.
