We then turn our attention to the recently-announced buy-out of former head coach Jeff Tedford, before launching into a discussion about the Cal basketball team and its prospects for the Pac-12 Tournament in Las Vegas just over a month away, and what the Bears have to do over the final month of the regular season to improve their seeding.

Finally, it's nearly time for professional pitchers and catchers to report, but the Cal baseball team is already hard at work preparing for the Feb. 15 season-opener against Michigan at Evans Diamond. The 80-year old facility is set to see its first ever night game when Cal faces USC to kick off Pac-12 play on March 28, with a new video scoreboard coming in June. Who are the new faces in the lineup? Who's going to be taking the hill on the weekends? We answer all that and more.
