Bakersfield LB Keylon Hollis

(UPDATED 11/15/12) A look at some of the top linebacker performances over the past week and which players are standing out for their team so far this season. This is by no means all-inclusive, but just a snapshot of some of the players who had big-time performances over the weekend...

Bakersfield LB Keylon Hollis - The sophomore had 13 tackles (10 solo), five sacks, six tackles-for-loss and one quarterback hurry in Bakersfield's 38-17 win over Pasadena last weekend. Hollis has had a very good sophomore season for the Renegades, posting 54 tackles, 12.5 sacks and 16.5 tackles-for-loss in nine games.


Fullerton LB Josh Seiler - Seiler racked up eight tackles (seven solo), three tackles-for-loss and one sack in the Hornets' 57-23 win over Santa Ana. The sophomore has posted 42 tackles, four sacks and 10 tackles-for-loss this season.


Saddleback LB Erik Nelson - Nelson posted five tackles, three tackles-for-loss and two sacks. The sophomore linebacker has really filled up the stat sheet this season, posting 52 tackles, 4.5 sacks, 16.5 tackles-for-loss, two interceptions and three passes defensed.


L.A. Harbor LB Jeremy Lutali - The freshman linebacker was outstanding for the Seahawks in their 36-21 win over Citrus last Saturday, posting 10 tackles (six solo), a sack and an interception. Lutali has been a real star for Harbor this season, leading the team with 101 tackles, one sack, 9.5 tackles-for-loss, three forced fumble, three fumble recoveries and two interceptions in 10 games.


Mt. San Antonio LB Ryan Goforth - Goforth had seven tackles in the Mounties' 25-0 win over Riverside last weekend. This year, the sophomore has posted 46 tackles, one sack, 4.5 tackles-for-loss, one forced fumble and one pick.


East Los Angeles LB Gilbert DeLaRosa - DeLaRosa had a game-high 11 tackles (five solo) and a sack in East L.A.'s 45-42 loss to San Diego Mesa. The freshman linebacker totaled 39 tackles, 1.5 sacks and 2.5 tackles-for-loss in the regular season.


Santa Monica LB De'jon Mitchell - Mitchell totaled 10 tackles, three tackles-for-loss, two sacks and one fumble recovery as Santa Monica finished the regular season 9-1 with a 24-21 win over Antelope Valley last weekend. The sophomore leads the Corsairs in sacks with three and has also posted 38 tackles, eight tackles-for-loss, one interception and one fumble recovery this season.


Butte LB John Batnich - Batnich finished with a team-leading 10 tackles and also had one sack, 1.5 tackles-for-loss and a quarterback hurry as the Roadrunners down undefeated and top-ranked City College of San Francisco 31-21 last weekend. The sophomore linebacker ranks second on the team with 69 tackles and has also posted four sacks, 12.5 tackles-for-loss, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries.


Foothill LB Jarom Baldomero - In Foothill's 55-35 loss to DeAnza last week, Baldomero posted 15 tackles (seven solo) and 1.5 tackles-for-loss. The freshman leads Foothill with 109 tackles, 1.5 sacks, eight tackles-for-loss, one forced fumble and two interceptions.


Sierra LB Broc Westlake - The freshman tallied ½ a sack to go along with 11 tackles and 1.5 tackles-for-loss in Sierra's 52-13 loss to American River last weekend. Westlake leads the Wolverines in tackles with 83 and also has eight tackles-for-loss this season.


American River LB Samson Faifili - Faifili has been solid once again for the Beavers, racking up 47 tackles, six sacks and eight tackles-for-loss from his middle linebacker spot including his five-tackle, one sack effort last week in ARC's 52-13 win over Sierra.


San Joaquin Delta LB David Holley - Holley had 10 tackles and two tackles-for-loss in the Mustangs' 48-37 win over Modesto last week. The sophomore has racked up 83 tackles and two sacks so far this season.


College of the Sequoias LB Tyler Grandal - Grandal, a freshman, put up huge numbers for the Giants last week, racking up 13 tackles in COS's 31-0 loss to Fresno. In eight games, Grandal has posted 70 tackles, one sack and two picks.


Chabot LB Zach Parrella - Parella posted 11 tackles in Chabot's 47-45 win over Reedley last week. This season, the freshman ranks third on the team with 63 tackles to go along with three sacks and seven tackles-for-loss.


Laney LB Joe Fotu - Fotu had a solid game, racking up eight tackles and two tackles-for-loss while helping get Laney to 5-5 on the season with a 24-13 win over Sacramento. The freshman has 28 tackles and three sacks on the season.


Feather River LB Kyle Newsom - The freshman led the way for the Golden Eagles on defense, totaling 10 tackles, but Feather River still lost 27-17 to Diablo Valley. Newsom leads the team with 78 tackles and 14.5 tackles-for-loss and also has a sack on the season as well.


Diablo Valley LB Kyle Egan - Egan, an Oregon State bounceback, posted seven tackles, two sacks and two tackles-for-loss in Diablo Valley's 27-17 win over Feather River. The sophomore has tallied 53 tackles, five sacks and 10.5 tackles-for-loss so far this season for the 6-4 Vikings.


Los Medanos LB Willie Thompson - Thompson racked up a team-leading and game-high 11 tackles last week in Los Medanos' 33-14 loss to Contra Costa. The freshman has had a solid first season with the Mustangs posting 34 tackles, one sack and nine tackles-for-loss.


Hartnell LB Robert Foy - Foy seemed to be everywhere last week, posting 16 tackles, ½ a sack, three tackles-for-loss, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery, but the Panthers still lost to Monterey Peninsula 28-3. The sophomore leads Hartnell in tackles with 83 while also posting 3.5 sacks and 15 tackles-for-loss on the season.


Rochester LB Nick Albano - Albano, a sophomore, finished the season with 109 tackles (47 solo), one sack, 12.5 tackles-for-loss and two interceptions while helping to lead the Yellow Jackets to a 9-2 record.


Jones LB Marion Chapman - The sophomore racked up 106 tackles, three sacks, 3.5 tackles-for-loss, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries and one interception for the Bobcats this season.


Butler LB Josh Kirkland - Kirkland posted seven tackles, one sack, four tackles-for-loss and one forced fumble in Butler's 26-16 win over Hutchinson last weekend. The sophomore posted 53 tackles, five sacks, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries this season.


Nassau LB Amara Kamara - Kamara finished with 13 tackles and one fumble recovery, but Nassau still fell 30-29 to ASA. The talented sophomore finished the regular season with a conference-leading 93 tackles (63 solo) to go along with one sack, two interceptions and four fumble recoveries.


ASA LB Rashaun Smith - Smith, a freshman, was a key figure in ASA's 30-29 win over previously unbeaten Nassau last weekend, posting a team-leading 10 tackles, one sack, three tackles-for-loss and one fumble recovery. This season, the talented freshman has totaled 44 tackles, two sacks, one interception, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in eight games.


Glendale LB Jordan McFadden - The sophomore led the Gauchos with eight tackles, one tackle-for-loss and one fumble recovery as the lost to Mesa by a score of 34-28. McFadden finished with a team-leading 58 tackles to go with five sacks, three tackles-for-loss, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries this season.


Trinity Valley LB Davonte McMillian - McMillian, a freshman, led the Cards in tackles with 85 this season and also had two sacks, one tackle-for-loss and one interception.


Itawamba LB Quad Freeman - The sophomore is a tad undersized at 6'2, 200 pounds, but he led Itawamba with 78 tackles, 9.5 sacks and 15 tackles-for-loss this season.


North Dakota State College of Science LB Andrew Bewley - The sophomore totaled 82 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery for NDSCS this year.


Mississippi Gulf Coast LB Brandon Keel - Keel, an Ole Miss bounceback, led the Bulldogs with 82 tackles, two sacks, six tackles-for-loss, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.


Kilgore LB Matthew Gregg - Gregg, a sophomore, finished the regular season with 76 tackles and five tackles-for-loss and two fumble recoveries.
